Free Classes Offer Tips for Living a Healthier Life

Whether you have arthritis pain, high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol, there is help for managing your chronic condition.

Mercy is sponsoring a free six-week course that will cover topics including managing fatigue, working with health professionals, learning relaxation techniques and practicing healthy eating.

The $20 fee is waived, thanks to a grant from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the Southwest Missouri Regional Arthritis Center.

Classes will be held at the Mercy Surgery Center, 1229 E. Seminole, Room 4A in Springfield. The group will meet on Mondays from Nov. 4 through Dec. 9 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. While the class is free, you do need to register. Just call (417) 888-6787.

Classes in Stockton will be held at the Cedar County Health Complex from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays from Oct. 22 through Nov. 26. You'll also want to register for this free class. Just call (417) 646-2419.
